Wikipedia has published a blog post saying that it get coverage in English-language news media and reckons it’s because to them, “Wikipedia is a foreign country.” Written by Robert Fernandez, a Wikipedia English administrator, the post goes on to say that the poor news coverage is down to the media simply not understanding “the mechanics of Wikipedia, the role of the Foundation, non-Wikipedia Wikimedia projects, and other important issues involving the encyclopedia and the community.” From a PR perspective, besides the obvious mistake of insulting the people you want to give you said news coverage, I think the all-too-silent Wikimedia Foundation… This story continues at The Next Web
